Skin Peels Aftercare

  • It is normal for the skin to feel and look flushed for up to 72 hours.

  • We strongly advise against any activities that will promote heat in the skin, such as vigorous exercise and sauna use. Also avoid chlorinated swimming pools as this may intensify your downtime.

  • It is normal for your skin to ‘shed’ this can include mild to moderate flaking, rough and dry skin to the touch.
Your skin may also purge; this means more breakouts than normal.

  • Please avoid sun exposure for 3-5 days post-treatment, and remember to apply SPF daily.

  • We suggest you avoid reintroducing active ingredients to your skin for 3-5 days.

  • Please use the prescribed products your therapist recommended.

What Can Down Time Look Like?

It is normal for the skin to flake/peel and feel sensitised. Most describe a "sunburn" feel/effect on their skin. It is also normal if this does not happen. Please do not pick or pull at peeling skin. While less common, blistering and a bruising or graze-like effect are also normal. Some people may find a miloing effect on pigment - this will darken and then flake off. If you are experiencing downtime with your skin after your treatment, which is concerning, please contact us and speak to your therapist.
