Skin Peels Aftercare
It is normal for the skin to feel and look flushed for up to 72 hours.
We strongly advise against any activities that will promote heat in the skin, such as vigorous exercise and sauna use. Also avoid chlorinated swimming pools as this may intensify your downtime.
It is normal for your skin to ‘shed’ this can include mild to moderate flaking, rough and dry skin to the touch.
Your skin may also purge; this means more breakouts than normal. Please avoid sun exposure for 3-5 days post-treatment, and remember to apply SPF daily.
We suggest you avoid reintroducing active ingredients to your skin for 3-5 days.
Please use the prescribed products your therapist recommended.
What Can Down Time Look Like?
It is normal for the skin to flake/peel and feel sensitised. Most describe a "sunburn" feel/effect on their skin. It is also normal if this does not happen. Please do not pick or pull at peeling skin. While less common, blistering and a bruising or graze-like effect are also normal. Some people may find a miloing effect on pigment - this will darken and then flake off. If you are experiencing downtime with your skin after your treatment, which is concerning, please contact us and speak to your therapist.
